Wiring Help PLEASE!?

I don't know how I should wire my amp and subs.....the book that came with my Power Acoustik subs and amp has so many type-o's that I don't really trust it! I have a Power acoustik LT980/2 amp, 2 12in. Power Acoustic DVC FUBAR siries subs and a Sony X-Plode CDX-570 deck and well i've been trying to find out if and how i could bridge it in mono safely or if anyone could possibly help me PLEASE.....I'm so confused about what would be the best wiring set-up to maximize power and not run the risk of damaging my system. Also I don't understand how to fine tune my amp and am having problems with distortion. If anyone can help me I sure would appreciate it cause' i'm kinda new at this stuff!

Can you post the specs it gives in the book? Usually bridging comes from using a pre-determined + and - terminal from each channel.

Also, what impedance are the coils on those subs?

the subs are 4ohm DVC, what specs do ya need?

post stuff like, what are your subs RMS? what is your amp's specs? For instance, what does the amp do at 4, 2, or 1 ohm? (power wise) is the amp a mono amp, or a 2channel amp that you are going to bridge? Is it a bridgeable amp? Keep the gains down on the amp until you get this figured out, distortion is damaging your speakers, so you do not want any of that. Keep them very low for now and dont crank it until we figured this out!

the amp can handle a minimum impedance of 2 ohms.....it's two channel i don't know how to tell if it's a mono amp but there is a way of wiring it that makes it streo or mono but i can't understand the book and i have even been trying to do some homework.

My subs are Two Power Acoustik 12in. Dual Voice Coil FUBAR series and the Specs are;

well thats about all that i can find. Sorry for not answering sooner but i work strange hours and i really appreciate yall's help. At the moment i have the subs hooked up on one side (only one voice coil or one side of the speaker) and i'm taking your advice not to bump too loud right now. thanx yall and if i left anything out just lemme know and i'll happily post it . thanx a bunch and i'll be checking back soon

Can anybody help me please? i did some research and i think i have my subs hooked up right but i've posted all the information that i think is needed but i might be wrong so please help!
