Will my setup work?!? HELP

I have just recently bought:

1x Alpine type x 12" woofer

1x hifonics brutus 1700.d

The alpine max wattage is 1000 watt RMS and the hifonics amp wattage is 600 watt RMS running at 4 ohms.

I'm just wondering if running this amp and sub at 4 ohm would work?

I bought these items yesterday and i am waiting for them to come i'm just unsure :/

Ya it will work fine. I'm assuming you have d2 sub so why not just run at 1 ohm and set your gain accordingly.

Because at even 2 ohm operation that amp is working 4X harder, that it was at 4 ohms and sound quality suffers. Drop it to 1 and you're another quadroupleing in heat.

I would ask why buy THAT amp if you intended to run 4 ohm?

My advice is to try 4 ohm operation and see if that's enough for you.

im gonna be running the same set up but with the new type r 1000rms let me know how it works out for you since i wont get too hook mine up for anothe 2 months

Then you can wire it to either 2 or 8 ohms, 2 is what you'd wanna do.

okay so if i wire it to 2 ohm it will run at RMS Power of 1200 RMS.

Thats all good?

oh and what do i sacrafice when i wire it to 2 ohm rather than 4 ohm?

make sure u set ur gain properly so you dont overpower it
