I never claimed this. Just that the overall decrease in rent would eventually be passed onto consumers. All it takes is one business to drop its prices and increase its market share for others to follow suit. A blanket cut like this would eventually trickle down.

My point was that even though it costs you less money initially, the fact that the labor was done by people who do not pay income tax and take advantage of healthcare, you end up having to pay more because of that.

I have never heard of this...what's their incentive? They have fake driver's liscenses in which they change their name on almost yearly. They don't pay taxes, they don't write checks, and they don't have credit/debit cards(I'm referring to any illegal I have ever known)...how are we supposed to keep track of these people? They don't use their real name on anything.

Hell, even RICH(and I mean rich) illegals that I know that make 1/4mil+ a year in construction don't pay taxes. The head mexican guys for framing and decking crews are stacked beyond belief. Driving around on the job site with decked out escalades, 4 different cars, huge house here and a couple of big ranches in mexico. Yet they pay nothing...

But you were just complaining about how much their ER care costs. Why not save a few bucks and treat them in a normal doctors office instead? We're never going to just let people die in American hospitals so why are you advocating that we give illegal aliens the most expensive health care option there is?

I'm not talking about letting someone die, but why should they get their broken finger treated on for free? I think they shouldn't be provided any treatment for something that isn't life threatening...and even then, I still wouldn't want them to receive treatment, but I wouldn't be cold hearted enough to deny them that to their face.

I'm not advocating giving them any health care option, period.

Also a shame we cant all fly and be rich without having to work... but its not an option so what's your point?

There are many places in America with substantially less illegal immigrants than Texas. You could easily get away if you wanted to.

Juan doesn't have the skills required to compete for middle class jobs.

Most people benefit from Juan because they get cheaper yard care, cheaper meals in restaurants and cheaper food from the grocery store. Overall they experience a net gain.

To limit the majorities interaction with Juan has a bigger cost than to protect the narrow interest of a few.

Furthermore, I am curious what would happen if the post office went BK? I am certain the govt would offer aid. However, they tend to offer aid to any large entitity that declares BK now.

And I find it impossible to believe you have much statistical analysis experience if, when presented with the idea that statistics can be manipulated to suit an agenda, your reply is that statistics are 'data', implying they are raw facts, which they most certainly are not. Or, were you just stating they are 'data' in a benign reply that didn't address my point at all? Come on man, as someone said earlier, I feel more and more intellectual dishonesty creeping into your replies each time I read one.

I'm sorry that I didnt have a more animate reaction to your world view shattering news that statistics could be manipulated. From now on i wont assume a basic understanding of correlation/causation and try to keep in mind that statistics can be manipulated.

The patient could most likely move themselves to the PCP.. after all they got mostly likely got to the ER on their own if they are being referred to the PCP as a nonemergency .. Additionally, many hospitals are in large medical complexes that include pcp clinics, specialists, ect. In that case they could simply walk down the hallway or to another building on campus.

There are no PCP clinics at any local hospitals. They are, however, within walking distance. WHile I totally agree with this policy, I don't know if the public will swallow it.

Why do blacks make .64 cents on the dollar when compared to whites? Why is the rate of infant mortality higher? Why are their lifespans overall shorter? Why aren't they represented equally in higher education or the political system?
Its nice to think of yourself as unprejudiced and 'color blind', ignorantly believing everyone has equal opportunities in America. However when you look at the demographics its pretty easy to see that it isn't true. If it is true, then why do people of color seem to get the shaft? Are they biologically or culturally inferior? Why are there such discrepancies in the stats if America is just and everyone truly has the same opportunities?

I'm not defending affirmative action but to all the people who want it to end, what do you propose to close the gap? Ive never heard any better ideas (or any ideas at all) from the people who call for its end.

Its nice to try and get all ideological and pretend that everything is ok; blame the victim for their situation. Nonetheless, ideology doesn't do shit about the problem.
