Discipline - my point was when you and I were growing up it was the norm to get knocked the fvck out by your father when you fvcked up - now because of civil liberty activists and the laws that have been put in place have taken a lot of the discipline out of the parents hands. You realize the number reason for gas prices going up is the considerably huge increase in world wide consumption?

Look Im not saying the Government isnt at fault, they have fukt up a lot of things, but so have the American people. We must control what is in our power and not worry about big brother or what the government is doing. They are going to do it anyway.

The world is a different place than it was 25 years ago. This is a fact of life. We must adapt or be destroyed. And yes the American Empire will fall but doubtful it will be in our lifetime.

No parents need to be more involved and you second question reiterated my point - under paid teachers due to underfunded budgets!!!!!

"increase in world wide consumption" - consumption hasn't changed; people have been driving SUV's for years; people have been moving further in to the country for years - talk about believing everything you hear; that is the excuse used. As I stated before it used to be a supply/demand state; now it is demand/supply. The supply will always be down to justify the costs.

You have it backwards - the housing crisis definitly has something to do with the weakend dollar. But it's not just those that couldn't afford it to begin with that are getting foreclosed on - hundreds of people who could afford it are now walking away from their mortgages cause they are upside down and owe hundreds of thousands of dollars more than the current market price of their home due to the artificial inflation in home prices - which was a direct reaction to the fed's cutting the interest rate. - So yes the gov't is ultimately responsible for this one. They got the praise on the way up, they deserve the reprecussions on the way down!!!!

Like I said, I know how to discipline my son and will not resort to physical contact.

Their is nothing you can do when a country doesn't want your help. If you have never experienced what it's like to be a soldier in Iraq, then join the military and find out for yourself. I had a stupid Iraqi SPIT in my face when I was doing TCN duty over there once, after that, I lost all respect for that country.
