I did EXTENSIVE testing... I'm not sure if you can even fathom how many boxes I've had the strokers and the type R's in...
The stroker does nothing below 45hz... it can have great output at low power levels, but it is just entirely too easy to bottom it out... it also takes a BIG box to get it to effeciantly tune low. The stroker also sounds like arse once it gets going...
The type R spanks the stroker until 50hz+... where the R craps out and the stroker starts getting loud... I'll take a type R 12 over a Stroker 15 in terms of daily driving. The R sounds better and has MUCH more output in the typical music range...
This stuff isn't vehicle dependant, which btw, I've done testing in multiple vehicles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
There is a bandwagon...It goes something like this...
"What sub should I get?" TYPE R ITS THE BEST
F it the list would never end. Ill admit it performs well in your ride and in a few others. Again, nothing aginst the speaker, it is what it is. I am against the BS bandwagon, just as I was against the RE and SS bull crap bandwagons where the speakers is the end all to all audio.
The type R 12 is under 150... it hangs with almost *any* woofer as far as daily driving when you use it properly... excuse me if that fits ALOT of applications and budgets!! Why the heck would you pay more to get similar performance???
I dont want a stroker pro, I dont want an R. I am happy with what I have. You boys are no better then the RE bandwagon. Remember go type R or go home...Its Teh Best!!!
Actually... we've tested the type R to be better overall than the SX... and even going retail the type R is 1: average about $100 cheaper and 2: AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE...
So technically, this "bandwagon" is better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Nothing against you Mark, I just get fed up with all the BS when it comes to choosing a setup. People only recommend one thing. The local boner.
Objective test results... you dont see me throwing around rec's because I "think" the woofer will work better... I know because I have TESTED it to work better, repeatedly. This goes for amps, speakers... WHATEVER.
I have no incentive to use or recommend the R... yet I do both, why? Because the dam thing costs nothing and its hand in hand with woofers costing 3-4x its price... even the RETAIL price on the R...
