which sub?

Hi, I'm running 2 Concept CEX 12's on a RF 1001bd amp.. I was thinking of maybe just going to one sub of higher quality and power handling to save trunk space(I am buying a car soon)..

I was wondering what you guys recommend? My amp will put out over 1000wrms.. I was thinking maybe a 13 inch JL W7?? A lot of you guys talk about Brahmas and xxx's? I've never heard either one? would my amp push either of these? Should I go with a 12 or 15? I like SQ, but want it to be decently loud as well.. What sub would give me the best bang for the buck?

Go down to washington and pick up a 12" Brahma from Adire Audio.

Its so worth the trip !!! plus you wouldnt have to wait a month for it (XXX)

With only 1000 watts Id look at the Brahma over the XXX. For 1500 or more Id go to the XXX.

Remember though, your amp is only 2ohm stable, and the XXX and Brahma come standard with a 2ohm/coil DVC. So you would either need to 1) Special order the sub with a different VC configuration, or 2) Buy a 1ohm stable amp.

Oh, and Adire is in Seattle I do believe.

I believe RE can throw a Quad 2ohm/coil or dual 1ohm/coil on the XXX for an addition $25, and both of those would allow you to get a 2ohm final load. Don't know about the Brahma though.

look at the rl-p series..these things are built like a tank, come in either dvc2 or 4 (ur choice) and sound clean as hell while still getting plenty loud!! i'm currently running one rl-p 12 off a nemesis (hifonics) 750d....clearest sounding sub i have ever owned. i running it in a 1.25ft^3 sealed box..i really love the lows this thing produces!!

Don't know about the Brahma though.
