Which soundplitter sub would you recommend for me?

Hey all, I'm trying to get my set-up together, now I'm looking at subs.

I've heard some good things about both these products and I would appreciate any input on which one would be more suited to what I want. The subs of interest are the rl-i 8 and the rlp-12. I'm looking for great sound quality sub that has some kick to it, but I don't want some crazy *** sub that rattles and shakes everything.

What one would you choose and why? And if not one of these, what other one?

And getting one 8-inch or a 12-inch sub isn't a bad thing is it? Reason being, I have a mustang and I would like at least some room in the back.

One more thing. If I get somethig like this, I wouldn't have to upgrade my electrical, would I? So far what I have is a JVC KD-AR5500 reciever, and I'm strongly considering a pair of 6.5 DLS Iridum comps.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I would recommend the RL-i 8" for you, ported. Should give you the "kick" you're looking for, and only require a very reasonable amp, one that wouldn't need an upgraded alternator. You'd just need to upgrade your battery ground.

Do you want a ported or sealed setup?
What's the difference? Sorry, I'm still new.

And I hear that L7's are pretty decent. Do they stand up to these subs?

Thanks all for the suggestions and keep em coming!

Ported can have SQ you terds. Stop going off of hear say and build yourself a "good" box...

What are you looking for? What kind of space do you have to work with? What power are you going to be using?

Wow, I just started a thread because I am trying to choose between the same 2 also. I have a Mustang as well. I was actually considering 2 8s because of the wow factor. But the RL-p is hard to beat for the money... For you I would say the 8 because you don't want everything shaking. The only problem I have with the 2 8s is they will cost more than the 1 12.
