when sub hits hard the head unit shuts off

when i have my system on and my bazooka tube in the rear hits hard the head unit will restart itself until you lower the volume can someone help me out with this

My guess would be that when the bass hits, it causes a voltage drop on your electrical system. This in turn causes the HU to receive less voltage than it needs to operate properly, so it's "forced" to shut off till the voltage rises again.

Do your lights or anything dim when the bass hits real hard?

ok how do i fix this problem because i cant realy hear it with the windows down on the parkway before it shuts off

Do your lights or anything dim when you have the volume up high? Do you have a voltage meter in your vehicle? If so, how low does the voltage drop?

i dont have a voltage meter but the head lughts do not dim or the iterior gauge panel lights i checked all of my connections the other day they are solid with gold audio connectors

where is ur power wire connected too? cause it dosent go too the HU *i saw it at work not saying ur dumb but we have seen cars that have 4 gauge connected too there radios for power.*

Any gauge above 20 is Ideal for a HU. It's going to work, but is it necessary...

If your lights do not dim and the amp itself does not shut down I wouldn't think you are losing enough voltage to shut down your head unit. Is it possible that you have a loose connection on your head unit? I second the WTF would you run 4 gauge to a head unit for sentiment. Head units simply do not need that kind of current. Even if it were going to do any good you would have to run a 4 gauge ground also to be effective.
