What would you set the HPF and slope on these?

What it's rated, ie published requency response figure, does not = what it plays well at. The configuration of your system, positioning, and the amount of power applied to the driver come into play .

Sorry about that.

Basically what I am trying to do is to take JL Audio VR-650csi components, removing the included passive x-over and go active off of the Alpine CDA-9887 3-way feature. I'm doing this mainly because the tweeters are in the A-pillars and the drivers are in the lower part of my doors and the imagining sucks this way. I can't make any major changes to the car so I have to keep the speakers where they are.

I will be driving them off of a JL Audio 300/4 amp which is rated for 75x4.

Here are the specs of the specific JL Audio VR series Tweeter (VR075-CT) in question.

Continuous Power Handling: 50 Watts (with appropriate crossover)

Peak Music Power: 125 Watts (with appropriate crossover)

Rec. Power Range (per channel): 2 - 50 Watts

System Efficiency: 89 dB @ 1W/1m

95 dB @ 1W/0.5m

System Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms

System Frequency Response: 4 KHz - 25 KHz ±3 dB

OK now can you articulate exactly how going active will cure the problems caused by your speaker placement? Maybe I'm a tard but I don't exactly understand your goals.
