basically need it to create a seal between the wood/plastic since I'm going to screw it down to the plastic also. So doesn't necessarily have to have the strongest hold, just something that will seals without too much expansion

silicone if you cut a nice edge, wont give you much hold but thats what the screws are for.

If you want low expansion don't go with the Gorilla glue I suggested earlier

I was thinking about a silicone based adhesive, but wasn't sure how well it would seal against the wood.

if ur using screws to hold i would def use silicone for the seal. it will work great. ca and epoxys dont work with all types of plastics such as delrin,nylon,umhw...
