what type of glue?

High strength epoxy or gorilla glue imo
basically need it to create a seal between the wood/plastic since I'm going to screw it down to the plastic also. So doesn't necessarily have to have the strongest hold, just something that will seals without too much expansion

If you want low expansion don't go with the Gorilla glue I suggested earlier

if ur using screws to hold i would def use silicone for the seal. it will work great. ca and epoxys dont work with all types of plastics such as delrin,nylon,umhw...
