What should i get?

hey

im buying my first subs(yay)

for my car, i dont know much about subs(i know basics)

but i have a 1000$ budget for a sub+ amp

i have a 99Clk 430, and i was thinking of a single 12" sub (sealed box?)

i would like to get a SQ sub more then an spl

(i rather have it sound better then very loud sound)

i was looking at

IDMAX12D4 V.3

Pheonix Gold Ti12D Elite

Si Magnum

now...my friend got a JL W6 12", and i would like to get something that will put his to shame(sound wise, out-bumping him would be nice too)

i listen mostly to rap, if it changes any thing...

whats your opinions?

If it's a W6v2, that's pretty hard to beat in terms of accuracy.

The SI Mag is an excellent choice, but it's not available right now...so I'd go with the IDMAX.

he dosnt have the v2

my stock speakers are bose, they sound pretty **** good

i dont think i need to replace them

what about beating/matching a W7? (with better sq tho)

This is true. I had a stock bose system and replaced it with some rainbows SLC. That 5" bose sub was pretty funny too.

funny....i personaly thought the sound quality in my bose sound good(let alone the bass, just sq)

well i guess speakers are the last thing ill add/change

what amp would be good with the idmax?

how are they against the jl's?

i went to like page 4 in the forum and i saw a topic about the new JBL's

are they any good>?
