ok check it out. i'm in the military and am re-enlisting in the next 6 months. my bonus is gonna be about 45,000. i get half up front minus taxes so about 19,000. my wife says i can spend up to 10,000 on a system for our suburban. what should i get?

dude...don't spend that much on a system, unless you're going to be a SERIOUS competator. If it's for everyday driving, i think 2 brahmas and some infinity speakers would sound really nice. i don't think you should use more than 1.5-2 g's on your system. It'd just be a waste of A LOT of money

Brahma's w/ infinity? LOL infinity would be drowned out and dead....

If you are lookign to spend about 10grand on your system checkout the list I have for my newest install. Total gear cost 9000 plus installation materials......Take it to the extreme!

i understand that i won't spend 10 on a system but i have up to that much. i don't have any bills at all so all my pay is mine. i own my house i own my cars and all my stuff is paid for. so if i wanted to i could spend 10 on a system. i was just wondering what i should get. i was thinkin 4-6 12's about 5,000watts a dvd/headunit. a couple tv screens and a few other of the wall things.

IMO i would say if your not competing......3 brahma 12's or even 15"s would hit PLENTY hard fed the right amount of power....

see the reason i want that much sound daily is because i live in the south east.....everyone down here has an acura, civic, eclipse, or some other rice burner. they also throw 2 12's and about 500 watts in the trunk and drive everywhere with it wide open. so i want to be able to pull up to one of them and make them roll the windows up cause the pressure is hurting them in the next lane.......LOL. i just enjoy watchin the smoke from my cig just vibrating in the car gotta love it. or when actually have to try to breath cause the vibs push the air out instead of in. my cousin who has 4 JLw7's made me feel that for the first time about 2 months ago. it is just sooooo awsome. i was thinkin of getting 4 JLw7's myself and hookin them to 4 jbl1200.1's. what would that sound like....espcially in a suv cause you know suv's always sound louder. by the way i'm runnin mb quart mids and highs what do you think of them?? thanks for all the replys

actually technically speaking, SUV's sound quieter cause the sound ahs more airspce to fill...

or it has more air to move...

a Geo or CRX or somethign liek that is louder witht eh same amount of drivers adn airspace for them..

the only real benefit to the SUV is the potential airspace for boxes.. thats it (from a stricly SPL PoV)

Quarts are good, overpriced, but good..
