what should i buy?

yeah a lil..im not saying you have to have the same rms just around the same
Well the 60 rms or whatever the amp is puttin out now is not even louder than the HU so i have a hard time dropping another 300 into another amp and better speakers if there only gona be a little louder. I just want my mids and highs to be louder than my bass. What do people use for mids/highs when they have like 4 18's? Also i see soo many people with selenium horns that i can hear from blocks away.. Are those worth looking into?

you might not have ur settings right? idk why stock would be louder..it must be the speakers
haha trust me man i have tried adjusting EVERY setting on the amp and the head unit. Considering getting a nice set of speakers up front then bridging the clarion to them and having no speakers in the back...

well, as far as amps, to get loud you need 100 watts or better. I was looking and found this ID i2600 for like $170...less than 1/2 price than anywhere else for that kind of quality power:

Image Dynamics i2600 2-Channel Class AB i Series Car Amplifier ...I am seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these myself. You could run the gain conservative if you think it is too much power, but it takes power to get loud and sound good too. I found these PPI convertibles for reasonable too..it is hard to find a decent set with soft dome tweets and rated to take the power for less than $160+ bucks:

Precision Power PPI A2.65C (A265C) 6-1/2" 2-Way Component Speaker System

A Hifonics coaxial speaker? I understand that you don't want to spend a lot of money, but IMO, you got exactly what you paid for..

If you run 1500watts to a dual subwoofer sub stage, don't think a set of cheap coaxial speakers will be able to keep up with their SQ or SPL of your sub stage..

If you want to have a balanced sound system, spend as much on your front stage as you spent on the sub stage. Subwoofers are cheap anyways and dime a dozen. You can get have great SQ with a $100 subwoofer. The front speakers on the other hand will cost you a lot more if you want SQ and SPL

.

There are a few decent oval speakers:

Hybrid Audio Mirus coaxial speaker (the 5x7 version, this is based on the popular Hybrid Audio Imagine line woofer)

JL Audio C5-570x coaxial speaker

JL Audio C5-570 component version of the same

Image Dynamics XS-57

If these are not satisfactory, look into components with round woofers. One good example is Massive Audio CK6 series, though you probably want to budget >100watts channel for these. A lot of people have been praising recently JBL's MS-series MS-62C speakers, and being priced at under $200 these should be a good value based on reviews.

I wana get both of these but need to save some of my money so i have to choose one then buy the other in a month or so. Which should i get first? Im thinking the components then bridging my clarion to them for 100 rms until i can get the better amp?
What model clarion?
