I have seen China first hand, if the Repubilcans have their way our country will be China. Look at the attempt to abolish public sector unions in Wisconsin. The front runner for the repubilcans endorses this notion as well. What is funny is that the people who were dummped on were those keep us safe, educate our childern, fight fires, and make our country a better place. Unions were what allowed there to be a middle class in this country. We have forgotton the conditions that factory workers had in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The five day work week and 9 hour work days would never have come about if people were not allowed to organise and fight for fair wages and decient working conditions.
Taxes are the least of our problems as Americans. We have a Repubilcan congress which has cut jobs in the public sector in a depression. In fact 1% of the unemployed in this country have been layed off in the public sector by a Repubilcan congress that wants Barack Obama to be a one term president. Our infastructure is crumbling, roads, railways, bridges all are in need of work and we have lots of unemployed??? There is no reason for that. The Republican party has sacraficed the well being of the American economy and its people to achieve political goals. It is frankly criminal what many of them have done at the state level in making it more difficult for some less wealthy Americans to vote.
The world economy is crashing and the divide between the very wealthy and the "middle class" is widening. The wealthy are trying to run this country by giving insane amounts of money into the Republican party. The end result of which will be a new America with no minimum wage, no ability for workers to sue employeers, no ability for people to sue doctors for malpracitice, no EPA, no FDA, no regulations. Basically China and if you could have walked down the back streets in Dalian with me and smelled the rotten garbage in the streets with tenaments on either side of the road... you would be thankful for all the organizations, the taxes we pay, and the rights we have.
Obamacare is an attempt to provide Americans affordable heath care. Honestly health care should be a basic human right, end of story. I know that statement probably angers a lot of people. If every American had health coverage, the cost of health care will eventually go down. Why? The number of unpaid medical bills is currently driving up the costs for people who actually do pay their medical bills. If all the bills were paid then prices will be able to go down. Every American needs health coverage, because most Americans cannot pay for an extended medical stay. Sweden has an excellan health care system run entirely by the govenment there, but sorry its not a capitalistic system so its a no go here. (No death pannels either...)
The govenment needs to make cuts across the board with federal spending and rethink how we handle trade partnerships. We need to cut foreign aid. We need to cut military spending and yes also cut welfare programs. We need to live in a country where people have two choices to work or not to work. The govenment needs to reopen the public sector to make that possible, don't let them fool you into thinking that taxes are the problem. You cannot get taxed if you have nothing to levi a tax on... Common sence.
The real issue is what the Republicans have in store for us, not what Obamacare has in store for us.
