New Dremel

Ok so I'm finally starting to build up a collection of tools so I figured the next thing on the list of toys would be a dremel. Now at the moment I'm feeling like a cheap ass and have been eye-ballin this:

Black And Decker RTX

Now the reviews look good and point out that you should just buy the standard dremel and spend a bit more on a nice bit/attachment collection. This is the direction I am leaning at the moment but I'm not sure if this is one of those "you get what you pay for" moments. So, I thought I'd ask some of your opinions before spending my yearly savings on this prime piece of machinery. Any douchebaggery is welcome as long as it is accompanied by some sort of opinion.

Thanks in advance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Dont bother with the cordless... battery dont last worth a ****...

I have actually had both the B&D RTX and the real deal Dremel.... The brushes in the Dremel lasted a bit longer than the B&D, but both died in less than a year under moderate (bi-weeky/monthly) use... I have a RotoZip now (w/ both the 1/8" and 1/4" collets) works EXCELLENT!

I would look in the RotoZip direction....

Lol I actually already own a RotoZip. I didn't think it was that versatile.

Don't buy cordless whatever you do. I have the real dremel with the cord and it's the best. I've used it so much for work on My car, wood, etc. it's the best and the battery will never die because there isn't one lol just buy a little extension cord if u need

^^This my boys got me one of those for Christmas I use it all the time and it works great
Well I guess I'm just going to drop the extra coin and buy the "special" one since it seems to be the consensus. Now, anyone know of any good attachment/bit sets to go with it?

I'm a cheap motherfucker here. Any reason why? Or do you just own one and its the shiz and nothing else is even worth bothering with?
Has a lot more power than the lower models. After my lower end model died I bought the 4000, all I have to say is it does not struggle at all at anything I do with it. Plenty of torque as well.

I wish I would have saw this thread. I just picked up the Dremel 3000 at Walmart for $50 and the 80 piece attachment kit and the collet set that has adapters for all 4 sizes.
It's walmart...Just use it for a couple weeks and return it for the better one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
