What damping material should I use?

I am up in the air about which damping material I should go with. I have the money for SS, but really would rather save and get the Tattoo I have been wanting to get and if I go SS, that would put a big dent in my pocket book. Not that I don't have it, but in the process of saving for a new house or building one in the next year or so. So a dollar saved for me can go a long way, lol!.......................maybe I shouldn't get the tattoo, lol!

So I am not 100% sure if I am not gonna go with them, but read good things on Rammat BXT and then checked on fatmat and hushmat. I hear nothing but bad things about ED, so they are out.

Are thre any other ones out there?

I will be doing the majority of my car, which is a 2006 Ford Focus ST. I had some dynamat in there that didn't seem to do the trick, but had someone else do it that said they knew how to do it and well, yeah! So ripped it all out and used goo gone to get the rest out. Was a PITA, but oh well. I will be doing this along with my dad as a father/son project being my back is in better shape as of late. Probably the weight loss helped some, lol! That was the reason why I didn't do it before.

I want enough to do whole trunk, front and back doors and rear deck and maybe some of the roof. I am not big on the floor, but if you guys recommend, I will do it. I don't want to go over 150 smacks, unless I have too, that is why SS might be out as they want 159 for 37sqft and I don't think that would be enough. I am terrible at judging by sqft, so what would be enough you think? Fatmat I believe has a kit over 60 for a decent price and a tool kit included. Rammat is there as well, but no tools, I mean I have a heat gun if needed and rollers I could go to hardware store, so that is not a problem. Let me know guys and thanks!

deadening is about as much of a direct return on investment as it gets.... cheap out on the deadener and get cheap results.... do it once, do it right, and be happy with the results //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

SS > ALL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Dude, I would be spending close to 300 smacks then. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif I just don't think I can go that route.

Audioholic says BXT is pretty good from other posts I see of his, but just trying to get as many opinions as possible.

Thanks for your input though, I just dont think I could afford them unless of course 37 sqft of damp pro would work. But like I said not sure how much that would really cover. If I could do my car in that, then I will go with them.

Whats in your trunk?

I have SS and NO rattles at all.. I have a BTL 15" on a IA20.1 and the only rattle I have is my plate and frame which you barely hear. You could look into hushmat? http://www.hushmat.com/ Compact trunk kit for $140 bucks.

And cute kid you got there, enjoy your weekend.

I will be ordering a 12" CVX off a 750.1 Autotek amp I just picked up off Matraxx dude from this site. It will be in a sealed enclosure, which I perfer myself and heard nothing but good things about this sub in sealed enviorment. I was gonna go with an IDMax from the classifieds, but meh, too much for my blood for used equipment.

Thanks for the link and yeah my little girl is a cuttie! Thanks.

Don't bash me, but I got a killer deal on 100sqft of Fat mat deadner. Called up there and told them about my situation and I got the bulk pack for 115 smacks shipped! Hey if I got to double up, so be it. I wanted the Rammat, but comes to over 130 for 62.5sqft, which I don't know if it would be enough. Plus they were real cool on the phone at fat mat, which always helps.

Thanks for all the help, especially you Audioholic.
