what could i get.... need to be louder!

heyyyy,

right now i have a rockford T2 15"

and i need something bigger....

i have a t40001BD so i have amp to power something

its going in an 06 eclipse, so it needs to be the biggest baddest thing i can fit in there.

i got metered with the 15" in a trunk car and got a 143.3

any suggestions???

if you have the room for them, 2 Resonant Engineering XXX 18's would be VERY LOUD. and they take 2000rms each, so the amp should work fine with them

xxx's arent really that loud, id take a single mt18 over 2 xxx18's

i hope that first statement isnt serious... and i hope you arent applying that second statement to daily use...

it is a hatch, yes. not sure if the 18" XXX would fit in there... but the 15" might. its going to be a daily driver, but im going to competetions about once a month. im not exactly sure on the dimensions on the trunk, but i can find them out for you. i was trying to go with just one single sub, didnt really want to do 2 of them. how does the ground zero nuke compare to the 15" xxx??? or other subs?

going solely by the numbers...

the GZ will require less box, has higher Bl (more than twice that of the XXX...), lower Qt (will produce bass more accuratly), and is more efficient than the XXX (louder)

so without having the two side by side, it can be assumed that the nuke will take up less room (probably good in your application), be louder, and have better SQ

than the xxx

im not sure, i just moved here so i dont know what the comps are yet, there is one this weekend, so ill go to that and figure stuff out. but im going to look more into the GZ sub. meanwhile, any other suggestions then the XXX and the GZ? money isnt too much of an issue, i just need to know what to get.

My wife drives an '02 elipse and a single 15 is all I'd want in the cargo area.

get two subs, divide the power up, the subs will last longer since you wont be overpowering one.

XXX's are bad ***, even if the RE boner has worn off on this board.

look into fi, dd, and audioque. w/ that power u could a pair of highend/spl gear'd 12s ported. 2 audioque hd312 would be very nasty w/ that power. are u wanting to run a single 15 setup like u already have????
