What car?

WTF! Those cars are one of the more common ones around, lol! Lay off the pot!
I say take a good look at that accord. Sounds like it may be a good deal.

Also a nice Nissan Maxima, but might be hard to find with low miles for that price range. Might even consider a Civic?

I love my Focus ST, but that is out of your price range.
Depends where you live I guess, around here there is maybe 1 or 2 others that I have seen on the road.

Coming from someone with the 6th generation accord, they definitely have nasty ****** problems. I replaced mine at 55k miles and I didn't beat on it. The new one started slipping again but I had it flushed, cleaned out and they put high performance AT fluid in it and it runs very well now even if I'm hard on it. The car itself runs great, plus the trunk has plenty of room for a decent system. If you can get your hands on a 4 cylinder manual accord I'd say go for it. It gets better gas mileage than the v6, is almost nearly as fast (due to the v6's craptastic ******), and is a hell of a lot more reliable.

well theres a bunch of stuff on google about ****** failures and honda actually released a statment saying they were aware of this and thats why they extended all the warranties on the accord v6s to 7years/100,000miles

Ive been looking a little while at work heres my options so far:

04 Monte Carlo LS 3.4 V6 with 48,000miles

01 Lincoln LS 3.9L V8 with 88,000miles

02 Nissan Altima 2.5L I4 with 112,000miles

99 Honda Accord EX 3.0L V6 with 95,000miles

02 Honda Civic EX1.7L I4 with 93,000miles

or what I have had my eye on the longest

01 Honda Accord LX 3.0L V6 with 75,000miles

He doesn't know what he's talking about. He's making a blanket statement off of his one personal experience. Just make sure it has a good ******. Have it inspected.
Oh, and get the v6. Don't be a *****.
I don't know what I'm talking about? Riiiiiiiiight. I've been on v6performance.net (big 6th gen accord following there) for a while, and have done my research with the 6th gen (98-02) accords. The automatic ****** is garbage. I am NOT going off my one personal experience. If this wasn't true, why did Honda replace my transmission for free (because of a defect/recall) when I brought it back to the dealership?

Hell I know people who don't modify their cars, or beat on them, who have had to replace the ****** fairly early in the same generation accord. I also stand by my statement that you don't need the v6. It's not that quick and you'll get worse gas mileage.

PS - take the Lincoln and Monte Carlo out of the equation. They are garbage. Have you seen the civic? If that wasn't beat on at all that'd be a good choice for reliability.
