weird voltage drop...

The HU turning on kicks on all of your other equipment. A voltage drop wouldn't surprise me, I just have no clue how much to expect.
yea but it JUST started doing it, before when i would just turn HU on, it wouldnt drop at all, nise fall thenr use back up either.. voltage would be at 14.2 before HU turns on, then i could turn the HU on and it would stay at 14.2 and not fall down.. i would play some music, voltage doing into the lower 13s.. turn music down to low, 10-15 and voltage would get back up to 14.2 where it started

it started the day i put that power wire in.

edit:

also, in my last post or the one before it i stated that after i started the car and turned the HU on, the voltage was at like 14.2 dropped down to 13.6 quick then went back up to like 14.1, played music, turned it all the way down, voltage was still at 13.6, turned HU off went up to 14.2 and then turned it back on and went back to 13.6, never came up again.

I'm going to check my car tomorrow with my multimeter and see what kind of drop I get when I power up my HU. My car sits at about 14.2 at idle with no music playing with the HU on, but I don't know what it's at with it off. That reading is from the HU itself.

i found the problem of all of this, it IS the new power wire i installed, ill have pics up in a few mins, proving it.
Who knew, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif:crazy:

so heres my voltage with the car off:

now heres voltage when car is started, HU off:

now heres voltage after i turn HU on:

now notice on the DMM above, the voltage says 14.2 yet the cap says 13.6... heres the pic that shows why (this is with car started HU on, same as above 2 pictures):

now, you notice that with the pos lead on the DMM on the pos post of battery it reads 14.2 while the cap reads 13.6, i touched the pos lead to the power wire (1/0 gauge wire) and that reads 13.6

problem solved, now whos got some kicker hyperflex or knu fleks 1/0 for sale? and to see if i can return this shitty wire...

what ***** now, is im stuck with this shitty wire now, just sold my 4g knu fleks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
