Weird Problem

did all of the wiring correct in my setup... but my kicker kx650.4 is wacking out. NEVER had a problem with this amp in my old setup... set the gains correctly and all...

now that I have swapped this amp out with the same exact speakers into my GF's setup it was working fine(with the system un-tuned) because I didnt have time... for the past 2 days I never cranked it because the gains were not set pup properly....so today after work I went to set the gains and everythin was okay... but then my rear speakers(brand new alpine coaxes) started crackling and shit... so i immediately turned it off... I thought it was the cheap RCA's (probably the only thing I cheaped on in this system).............so I unplugged the RCA's and everything was fine once I repluggd them back in....then my front speakers start crackling and shit....

So now.........when everything in connected....the amp keeps turning itself off and on and when it turns off the speakers "pop"......

ITS WEIRD? I checked the fuses and they all seemto be okay...

I have no freakin idea. but I take care of my equipment. I did a test with the RCA's and used some high quality ones and it still did the exact same problem. so im going to test it today and see....maybe it was just wackin out this one night...

Thge type S subs and pdx 1.600 areworking completely fine...I think its the kicker amp? btu WTF I didnt do anything to it?

Thoughts..

if i read correctly, you used the amp in your gf's car before this problem started happening?

are both your amps grounded at the same point? if not, check the kickers ground...that's the only thing i could think of that would cause that, other then a bad amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif other then that, i'd just check all your connections and wires.

No I used the amp in MY car for about 10 months or maybe a bit less before this started happening, then when I installed the amp and didnt have the gains set, it worked fine.

I would check the speaker wire....my buddy's truck install was doing that and I found

that he put a screw thru the speaker wire when he put

the plastic trim back on the door ledge.
The speaker wire is brand new 9 wire from JL... pretty nice stuff..

Both grounds are at the same spot... and its a good solid ground. I think im going to disconnect all the speaker wire and just reconnect everything and see if that fixes it.

Now that you mention your buddy put a screw through the speaker wire... on my kicker amp 2 of my 8 screw things for the little wrenchs was missing so I was using other screws to keep the wires in place...I think that may be the problem....
