VOLTAGE PROBLEM (too much i think)

y would i be getting 17 volts when the 4 guage wire is conected and only 14.4 when the stock one is conected???????

That makes no sense at all man... You aren't disconnecting the factory wiring, correct? Just adding to it?

Return the ALT nothing else.
Tell them they sent you a bad one.

thats what i meant i never disconected orginal alt postive to bat wire. i justed added 4 guage wire from alt postive to bat postitve and i got total reading of 17.6 volts. when i disconect the 4 guage wire im back at 14.4 volts wich is good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but how can i do the big 3 because with wout the 4guage alt postive to bat postive i get alot of dimming

Are you positve you are putting it on the correct terminals? YOU must be doing something incorrectly for it to be doing this.

If its possible, take a picture of the wire in place for us.
