Type-R or Type-X?

I say get the X. I had 2 type x and 2 pdx 1000.1 at one point with the gains not even half way and it was an amazing amount of bass and it sounded great too!!! I can't imagine a type r on 1k watts can be as efficient as a type x on 1k..

Okay, I will take a Type-X, just to be sure it will take the 1000W without any damage. Now, I need to decide which size and which enclosure (sealed/ported). As I've said, I still want it to be loud and play deep bass (my actual Type-R doesn't go really deep).

I've read much on the 10"/12" thing, it looks like a 12" would be better suited for what I want (loud when listening techno/trance/dance). Still not sure. A sealed box would be easier for me to do and take less space in the trunk. But ported is louder. Would 1000W RMS on a sealed Type-X be REALLY louder than 350W in my old ported Type-R?

by a shitload dude in theory by close to 3db louder

ported gains 3 db over sealed but doubling power does the same thing as well u r tripling so thats in theory 6db gain then going from selaed to ported u lose 3 db so in theory u will still gain 3 db which is theoretically 2 times as loud

10db is twice as loud actually

neither would "last longer" they should last forever if not abused.
fwiw, i love my type x. heard r's and they sound muddy in comparison.
my R doesnt get muddy wen my amp isnt clippin, but then its not gettin full power from the amp either but the X would just sound better bcuz its meant for a SQ sub n not an output sub

i think a 1.5-2 cu ft sealed enclosure would b good, u get good SQ, the ported enclosure does get louder n lower but u sacrifice some SQ as well as sacrifice higher bass notes, thats just my point-of-view

Okay, some updates.

I've about 20" width and 13" depth in the trunk of my Yaris to put the enclosure. It's not really much.

All sealed enclosures would fit, as it's usually really small. If I want something ported, I would probably need to get a 10".

I'm not sure to get all the differences between ported/sealed/10"/12". I'm listening to techno, I want it to play lower bass notes. Ported is louder and lower, sealed is better and higher, right?

If we compare a 10" ported and a 12" sealed, which one would be lower/louder? My ported 10" Type-R with 350W rms amp wasn't playing low bass notes at all. My friend is able to get really low bass notes with 2 cheap 10" MTX in a bandpass enclosure.
