I've had this spare Lanzar Opti1232d here doing nothing for a few months now. Always wanted to build a nice home sub but never had an amp for it. Recently picked up a 500w amp cheap (bash 500s) so I've designed a box.

This sub has a Fs of 29. Basic specs and manual are here if anyone's interested.

The box that was recommended on a HT forum is 4cf tuned to 21hz w/20 sq in of port.

My compromise is 3.4 @ 23 w/24 sq in.

Anybody have experience taking a car sub that's usually tuned in the 30's and going this low with it?

It's only going to be driven with

Considering this will be replacing a pre-fab 5.25" jensen at 30w rms I'm expecting exponential improvements.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Relaistic expectations?

It doesn't take a lot of power or a large sub to get plenty of output in a HT environment.

try and plot it in WINISD if possible, and see what you get

You should be happy
