Two American Bass amps what's the differance in them?

As title states it's two American bass amps. I want to run two 12" dual 4 ohm Tantric MD's at 1 ohm in a 4 cube ported box. Can anyone tell me the difference besides price between the two amps?

VFL 120.1 - Fuse Rating 150 amps & 1/0 gauge inputs

VFL 4480 - Fuse Rating 125 amps & 4 gauge inputs

Ive never owned a 120.1, but I have owned 2 4480s and I've loved both of them. Stupid efficient. Lots of power. Pushed my Hdc 3 15 very nicely.

Just out of curiosity whats wrong with the hybrids? They've been clamped a few times and they make rated, and are .5 stable.

They are not bullet proof like the big Koreans. We swapped out the one you used with the 120.1 and gained 1.5db. Both wired at 1ohm direct swap both set with scopes. That's a lot to gain when it was already in the mid 40s.

Thanks for the replies guys been trying to get some answers on that for weeks lol. Can someone tell me where to get the specs? So basically for the daily driver/cheapskate the Hybrids are good but anything over that and the 120's the way to go yeah?

The hybrid falls right in the 500 watts every $100 range.

i have to agree with @NoLoud4U; here. The VFL's are stronger amps then the hybrid's. Though the Hybrid is considered a VFL as well, just not built as strong as the "bgi koreans". Also the VFL 120.1 is closer to a 3k when ran at .5.

The Korean VFL's really come alive at .5ohm. But the 4480 will get the job done as well. If you want alittle more power get the 120.1. If you need about 22-2500 then get the 4480. I like the 4480 myself because its cheap for the amount of power

dont kick yourself in the teeth later, get the 120.1 and forget the hybrid.

No the 120.1 isnt near 3k the 150.1 barely does 3k and thats when ran at .5 and pray ur rise only goes to .8 or so..but yes id take the 120.1 over the hybrid..but id take at aq2200 over the 120 if ran at .5
