tricking a sub with poly-fill?????

i've heard that poly-fill will in a sense trick the driver into performing as if it were in a larger box. is this true? if so , would poly-fill in a .9 cube box make it sound closer to a 1.25 cuft box?

the reason is i got me a jl 12w1v2 in a .9 cube custom-fit box from a friend for helping him build his first slot ported box and the sub actually needs a little bigger box , but i like the looks and fit of this box , but it's lacking low end response. will the poly-fill make a noticible difference?

10% isnt enough. guess i gotta break down and build a box. god this is gonna be painful. there are so many ****ing angles under my seat. i might as well do it big and ported. i can prolly fit 2 cubes before port displacement under that seat. i guess its go big or go home time............

A lot high end, 2 channel speakers are stuffed. You can trick the box into acting 15 percent or more larger, most people say long fiber wool is the best stuffing.

You can stuff a ported box to dampen reflection, I have owned ported 2 channel speakers that were stuffed. In ported speakers, it's more to dampen back wave reflection and shit than it is to trick the volume.
