toyota supra?

I'm familar with antilag systems, but in all honestly, unless it's a track car... forget about it. Smaller turbos have less lag, but the overall power output isn't too impressive. Porsche has a new Variable Turbine Geometry that is pretty slick.
Whats the problem with going with a medium sized trim turbo then? You get the best of both worlds. Less lag than a large turbo, but more output than the small quick-spooling turbos. My friend just installed a GT35 turbo on his s2000 and he is putting out 360 rwhp on a light tune (we just had a dyno day the other day for our car club, found out i gained 15 hp from 200 dollar headers and a test pipe haha). The tuner from InlinePro said he could have pushed it over 400 hp. The lag is not that bad after the tuning, and the power is insane. Nearly doubled the stock horsepower/torque ratings to the wheels (the car was originally dyno'd with an exhaust and intake at about 195 hp and 130 torque).

It doesn't seem as though you know a lot about turbo systems. You are right that smaller turbos have less lag. However, The goal is to maximize the size of the turbine by matching the A/R to the flow rate and cam profile of your engine. You get it right, lag would be almost non-existent. Turbos are made to make a small engine perform as if it was bigger by increasing cubic inches through compression.

Bottom line...Turbos are better than N/A any day.

you're an idiot, as ignorant as they come. how are turbos better? because you get more power with a smaller motor... so? I'm not going to get into how broad and ignorant your entire post was. You think a 2.4l block pushing out 600hp wont have alot of lag?

Please tell me how turbo's are unquestionably better than NA or Supercharged vehicles? PLEASE

I have an N/A 300zx in my garage with a blown motor. I wouldn't call them reliable.
Well if you treat a vehicle like shit, or dont know how to work on it than the chances of it being reliable are probably pretty slim. Not to mention mechanical failure is guaranteed to happen at one point or another.

Retard, did you miss the part about personal preference? Turbo's are a good way to get cheap power or massive amounts. But i'd much rather have a freer revving, higher revving, more responsive motor. I'm sure i will buy a turbo'd car at some point but for the record.... NA FTW
they sound better too

Look, just dont mate.
thanks for the kind words. Some would prefer to have a kick *** autocross car that would go fast in a straight line than to have a loud *** 2 ton heap thats 1 second quicker in the quarter but cant cut a corner for its life. But i guess its your preference that really matters

Any smuck can bolt up a turbo manifold and strap on a turbo and put up big numbers, but how many people can build a high revving, high compression motors that can put up big numbers? Besides turbo = lag, and lag is for people with 56k =P.
a supra can rev, big numbers and high compression is not a good idea. hell my civic type R b16b reved to 9200rpms. putting a turbo on a high comp motor is dum as president bush getting kicked out of texas. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I own a 97TT and I would never trade it for anything.

Cars I have owned are mostly honda.. K24a2 tsx, type R swaps etc..

nothing compares to the tt supra!!

before you spend anymore time talking out of your *** you might want to realize that im an f1 and wrc fan and dislike drag racing.

When was the last time you saw a turbocharged ferrari, lambo, zonda etc? no...? Shut the fuck up

i think he was refering to high comp setups for na applications, not to bolt on a turbo.

i'm guessing the type r swap was into the civic? i'm curious as to why though. not meaning offense, just curious.

i've actually seen a tt lambo diablo(well in a magazine anyway) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif was pretty badass.

because the D series motors are crap. with a type R its a low 13 sec car if the driver can drive with a few mods. With the weight of the civic at around 2100 lbs and a WHP of around 190 it has some balls. like they say it doesn't take a big motor to make a car fast..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Ferrari has used turbo-charged engines in the past, like the F40 (2.9 liter twin-turbo V8). Lamborghini also offers OEM turbo kits for many of their cars.
lamborghini vttt, also heffner offers turbo kits for the gallardo and murcielago, f430 and the 360 modena

i know, i was just using that as an example to prove the point that i'm not some camaro loving drag racing asshat. and that he's making very broad generalizations.

i'm just wondering why you wouldn't go ahead and use a b18c5 or something of the like. then again im sure the 16 revs higher
