The purpose of a 10" sub

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif The cone size has little to do with the low-end extension of the driver, the motor and techonology it uses plays a much larger factor. A 10" subwoofer can easily outdo the low-end of an 18, it depends on many things other than cone area; installation being one of the largest variables...

Have you never seen an 8" woofer, or even a 6.5"? The purpose of different sizes is so that you can utilize them for your personal application.

bigger the sub the more bass it will put out though

The only scenario where that would be correct would be when you are comparing sizes of the same driver; e.g. a 12" MT to an 18" MT. Other than that, the motor and design is much more important.

My panties get bunched up my ******* when someone who has no idea what they are talking about puts their input in like it is fact, giving the original poster incorrect information.

The size of the motor means nothing, it is the motors technology that makes it do what it does. Bigger is not always better, and it rarely is in the car audio realm.

Which explains why no one really runs the jackhammer.
No, in that case bigger is better. The Jackhammer is the greatest subwoofer ever created, it has more potential than any other driver out there! The only reason everyone doesnt have one is the $2,500 price tag...
