The purpose of a 10" sub

So ... 12" subs will capture the low's more clearly and that is typically the point of a subwoofer. This being the case, what is the point of teh 10" subwoofer? Is it just a space saver?

A 10" subwoofer can easily outdo the low-end of an 18, it depends on many things other than cone area; installation being one of the largest variables...

Have you never seen an 8" woofer, or even a 6.5"? The purpose of different sizes is so that you can utilize them for your personal application.

The only scenario where that would be correct would be when you are comparing sizes of the same driver; e.g. a 12" MT to an 18" MT. Other than that, the motor and design is much more important.

The size of the motor means nothing, it is the motors technology that makes it do what it does. Bigger is not always better, and it rarely is in the car audio realm.
