I was wondering if anyone has tested 1 alpine type r 12 inch sub and what kind of numbers it had on a mic if so what was pushing it at what ohm

What would it matter what someone else pulls DB wise with their Type R, in their install? I'm sure it would be different than your install, and so would your DB's.

it wont be the same output in Decibels, but at least we can get an idea of what to expect, the tested spl limits of the sub and if its worth anymore tuning.

How did the MRD-M1005 like 1ohm?
What you have the gains at on that setup?

Or are you talking 2 Type R's on 850W?

just because spec sheets say they cant doesnt mean they cant why can i run my viper 2500.1 at 1 ohm? why could i run my alpine mrd-m1005 at 1 ohm? if you no nothing about the topic your posting on dont even waste your time trying to argue with those that have done it and continue to do it every day of the week.... also your "in a port score" means nothing what do you do in kick or on dash?

The type-x is a more SQ oriented sub. Just like how the XXX is to RE. Even though it costs more, it doesn't necessarily mean its louder. Thats why so many guys run the SX. It's a more SPL-oriented sub.

humm, i wounder how much better SQ could i get, since the Type R sounds so clean already, i guess sound quality comp level.

are you staying with the alpines, bigger subs or are you moving on to a difrent brand?

I can get both (2) TS-W3004SPL or (2) Type R's for $200. Im really leaning toward the Premiers but they need a sh*t load of power and i dont think i have enough money to power these babys. The Type R's would be easy to power. Any one with the Premier subs with an underpowered amp? I was thinking (1) Hifonics BX1000D or BX1200D to power both of them. Is there a decent amp that i could use that would underpower them a little untill i get my funds up for a BIGGER amp. Im really looking for a GOOD SQL sub with decent SPL. My friend has 2 W3's with a JL 500/1 amp and thats pretty loud to me.
