Just saw this when my friend shared it on fb (gonna also post it here so you guys can see it).

What do you guys think?

Performance:

1‧Upon activation, it can provide large instantaneous current to reduce the load and prolong the service life of starter battery.

2‧After activation, it can absorb instantaneous surge generated by the generator and provide steady voltage for the optimized operation of oil supply computer.

3‧It can constantly provide large instantaneous current for the ignition system to function effectively with best performance.

4‧It is the best choice for hardcore audio enthusiasts to improve the audio performance.

5‧Start-stop model which can effectively enhance starting capability and prolong battery life.

6‧It is equipped with ultra-low temperature starting capability such that it can be started even with the temperature at 30oC below zero.

7‧It is equipped with the longest service life of 500,000 cycles.

8‧It is filled with Epoxy to ensure shockproof, waterproof, and high temperature resistance.

Depends on how much capacitance it has.
For $680, probably not.

I hope to get one of these lithiums later and just run one instead of a heavy battery bank:

They're $2,600 tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
I didn't know these were out and was waiting to see if it would ever happen. I knew the price would be high but d a mn

Did you notice it includes an electronic monitoring and equalization system? I'm sure that's one of the reasons why it's so expensive, much of the lithium I've dealt with (mostly small unmanned aircraft) require an advanced charger with a special plug that had connections to each cell for individual cell monitoring and charging. They're inherently very volatile without proper maintenance - it's really no surprise the cost is high imo.

The benefits are really amazing though, the difference in output and response from the aircraft over time with the lithium vs a traditional nicd, nimh, or other traditional batts was noticeable

Yeah, RC has been lithium based for years. Its a mind boggle to me for some reason we have not went lithium polymer in our cars. Much better performance than other crap. Hell, Ive jump started a car with a 3 cell RC car battery.

They aren't stable enough, not yet anyways. Boeing is having a hell of a time getting adapted to lithium batteries, and previously ran into a lot of problems with maintaining thermal runaway on the 787 dreamliner. That's a company with some of the brightest people on the earth working with some of the most technical systems, there's plenty of smart people working on developing cars but not on the same technical level with the same resources. Cars are starting to see more lithium, but only those that have the technical capability - all electric cars generally have the systems in place already. For the average person it's just too costly, you need a huge drop in cost and maintenance before you can trust a consumer with such a volatile battery in a car.
