So all that work you've encountered and now you wanna try them sealed? You know i think I'm going to try them sealed and see how they sound. Because like i said when i had my cherokee for as ****** as my setup was it was way louder than my three 18's and they were in a sealed box....and ive seen videos of people doing 150+ in a sealed enclosure
Back to half assery already. You will regret using the roofing tape.Yeah i decided to say fuuck rounding the corners lol....to much work and not worth it....and I'm not going to use fiberglass or bondo.....I'm going to try using the roofing tape and do like three layers over each seam and then heat it up so the tar bonds to the wood. It's actually pretty stiff when you use multiple layers of it
Don't lump me into this! I said you must make sure the shell is solid and airtight. Have you even sealed off the cabin from the back? You had a lot of work to do before you even attempted to tune the port.Lol lbetts....i was curious.....i just put it around the port to cover up the gaps and just that alone i could tell there was definitely an improvement...I'm going to put ply over the port to smooth it out like hispls suggested
Good, seal the box properly then. Flexing sides, leaks everywhere and seems made out of foam or rubber aren't going to cut it to maintain pressure. Until you sort out the shell "sealed" will be every bit the disaster ported is.You know i think I'm going to try them sealed and see how they sound. Because like i said when i had my cherokee for as ****** as my setup was it was way louder than my three 18's and they were in a sealed box....and ive seen videos of people doing 150+ in a sealed enclosure
It's far from hopeless. The top, bottom and sides (possibly back?) were going to be OK if he braced and properly filled in the gaps. Baffle probably had potential too.A huge sealed wall? And judging by the rest you're gonna seal it with 8 pieces of wood and roofing tape?I think I'll refer to my first post where I recommended you tear it all out and start over with proper materials...
I also mentioned that anyone trying to help you on here...with what you had...was going to fail. I got told I was too harsh...and was going to hurt your feelings...but once you seal it up and it sounds like poopy...tear it out and start over. There's A TON of '*******' comments I could make if I were trying to hurt your feelings...just start over and listen to all the advise you've been given...on a new build!
You either have it or you don't have it... and buddy you don't have it. Your just not cut out for this hobby. You just don't understand the basics.I was just going to put an insert in the port to plug it.....thats all i was going to do. Just to see how different they sounded.....forget i mentioned it though, im not going to try it...f uck it I'm done....i cant drive my car anyways because the transmission went out yesterday. After i did a motor swap 3-4 weeks ago. This is how my luck always ends up....everything starts looking up, then i start doing great and right at the last second when i think everything is fine, i get shi t on. Or i do something wrong and its a disaster after that. Fuc k it.....I'm seriously thinking about tearing it down and selling the fuc king three 18's....i dont do this right....or that.....or whatever....i cant get anything sealed up apparently, i keep trying just to be told to tear it all down after I've listened to everyone's advice, ive tore it down three times already I've built what was suggested in the beginning. Didnt work....so i had to piece it together in some spots....obviously that's wrong....but i keep getting told I'm doing good and to keep going.....then since i used some fuc king roofing tape im told now it's hopeless and its fuc ked so i should just tear it down.....because i put some fu cking roofing tape on the port.....i also put some bondo on the port because thats what i was told i should do to fill the gaps. But since i did what was suggested i should still tear it down right? Oh and i stained it, so that makes you loose a few db's because its not the right color. Shi t i guess i should tear it down huh? Go ahead dont hold back. Im used to being criticized....and put down....nothing new to me.
