The do's and dont''s of my first wall....it seems like something isn't right....

You all do realize that this site as an ignore list feature, right? Absolutely no reason to keep feeding the trolls.

OP, keep it up, no reason you can't have a 55 with that cone area and power.

Plan to use your 3/4 ply for baffle. 5-6 layers, flush mount if you can. Get a gallon of wood glue and a 6" hot dog roller to layer up the glue between layers. Keep the roller in a pail of water between uses or overnight.

Don't worry so much about bondo for now... not to round over internal corners anyway, if you don't have unlimited budget you'll want that money elsewhere. Once the box is solid and tight your biggest thing to get 100% right will be sealing off the edges smooth and airtight.

5or 6 layers ? wow that ought to be flex free baffle if he gets it glued up good. Question I have always wondered how deep the baffle can be before it effects speaker ? Know what I mean ? as it kind of shrouds the speaker on the back side or does it even matter ?

Where is this ignor feature located? I need to block papermaker

He needs all the space he can get and that would help. A little anyways.
i agree, no doubt but hes going to have loading issues and fundamentally the shape could cause cancellation issues. now that he has more airspace I Know it will peak alot harder so the gonna be good on that issue. the picture that hetz posted with the slanted rear is a good idea and building over the tire well is ok to but he REALLY needs to keep it as aerodynamic as possible.

Mine is 6 and still flexed before adding some steel bracing. Most folks roundover the inside of the mounting holes, I doubt it'll load the cone much or any unless you're using a 10" sub with a 10" motor, then you might get some issues of the motor blocking the hole. You won't find many big-boy walls with thinner than 5 layer baffle I think.

If anybody is throwing advice at you and they can't prove (pics or numbers) that they have actually done things themself, don't put too much stock into what they're trying to sell you.

Numbers or should we measure the strength of a baffle wall property braced vs stacking plywood?

Anyone who has an understanding in structural will tell you bracing is 10x stronger. Lol

I've seen plenty of single baffle walls pull mid to high 150s. Lol

I'm hoping for 55 hispls. I got some more done earlier. I'm losing motivation. Cause it's just me, and my girlfriend hates my stereo. So I've been working really slow. And it's been raining on and off all day. Sh itty....but I'll post a picture here shortly. Can you help me figure out how many cubic feet I'm at right now? I'll label everything with the picture I upload so you have exact measurements and a real visual.
