The do's and dont''s of my first wall....it seems like something isn't right....

Ok i took a break...i feel better lol....this was an idea that crossed my mind....not that im going to do it I was just curious and want some input....to round the corners easier couldnt you use pvc pipe and cut it down the middle so it's half and glue them into the corners to round them over? Oh and also do you guys think it would be worth hooking this up?........i had it laying around, ive never hooked it up, it was given to me for free
Yup...T-Fade did that once for one of his builds.

Very true....i agree you guys are a very good resource no doubt about that lol. And i appreciate every bit of it to the fullest....so do you think i could get away with using just the 2x4's IF i fiberglass the whole inside and round over the corners?
NO. You really want a layer of ply/mdf on the inside and you'll want your baffle 5+ layers. Forget abut runding corners and forget about fiberhlass. You can have 155 without that and deal with those things later if you have time.

You need to really slow it down. My Jeep and my brother's civic each had about 80 man hours into them before the equipment was even hooked up for testing. There's a guy doing a Jeep in here that is counting each screw he us using, I'll wager he is a hudred man hours into his and that's about half done.

Don't rush it.

Don't half arse things,

Do find yourself someone to help out, You'll have a very difficult time doing everything solo.

Here's an update....if you can see the black sharpie line with the arrows thats where I have to cut it because of the back seats and i want to make sure the passengers have enough leg room instead of being cramped. Cause I still want my car to be nice and cozy at the same time lol. Cause i have heated leather interior. The picture of the back still had the plywood. But i did take it off and replaced it with a 2x12 and i cut it at an angle. The top is plywood, its only one later....im addimg a second layer tomorrow. I got excited and forgot to put the layers together before i put it in earlier lol. And I'm going to make the baffle three layers thick with the third layer being flush mounted. I also forgot to make a spot for my batteries so i had to tear out the right side. I didn't lose a whole lot of area.

Spot where the batteries go on the right side

yeah i've got a 2 foot level. I've got a few different size levels. I figured it's square enough. It's only off by a small margin on the left side. I can work with it. Plus I still have to do the inside layers of plywood so the "shell" doesn't have to be 100% squared. I went to home depot last night and got a new electric reciprocating saw so I can shorten it up. Because my milwaukee one bit the dust a few days ago. But I will update here shortly with some more progress

I am happy to see your back at it after the meltdown lol ! we all have them atleast I used to when I was younger. Slowdown and enjoy yourself. I know you cant wait to BEAT around the block but patients we go along way here and on future builds cuzz your in deep and this is far from your last build lol ! Hang in there bud !

without any parameters no one can really give you a accurate answer. i typically tune to low to mid 30s depending on the woofer box and what im trying to accomplish.

looking at the parameters on the original i can only imagine the recones are similar. if that is the case they will have plenty of bottom-end. Id probably start in the 34hz range for daily and 40 for metering.

Also what do you guys recommend I tune to?
You're still way ahead of yourself. Keep that passenger side flat and straight back. 5-6 layers for your baffle. Seriously 3 layers on a piece that big is not going to cut it. The thickness of the baffle + the port wall is your port depth and initial tuning. You cannot possibly tune too high here. Lowering tuning to suit is very simple if you need.

Stop trying to rush this! Relax, take your time.

I agree with hispls

Build your baffle as thick as you can

You can even play it like that just watch for really low notes unless your ssf is set

Test out a port extension and see how you like it

Thank you for the positive feedback chaseinbass! That helps alot! I understand hispls....the anticipation is killing me though because I've never been able to achieve this level of loud!! Lol....but i understand that slow and steady wins the race.I see what you mean about 3 layers not being enough because of the size. It makes perfect sense....i had to cut off 5 inches because of the back seats. So from front to back its 29, its 44 wide, and I'm hoping for 36 tall...but now i cant put one sub on the far left because they're 11" inches tall....and I've only got 7 inches now on the left side give or take an inch....so I'm thinking at the moment two on the right side and one kinda on the bottom left side..with the port on top, and right now im at 23.3 cu ft if i remember right. Because I had to take the right side off and the 5 inches off the depth. That's without the plywood layer on the inside. And without the 5 layer baffle.
