The only thing "class A" about those amps is the name.Those three amps, all class A (car version, anyway), are tremendously inefficient, meaning they draw a lot of current a lot of the time.

Blazemore is correct.2.No such thing as a true class A amp in a car. You'd kill even an alt in minutes, regardless of listening level.

The HSS amp is a true pure class A amplifier.
But I don't think there are any solid state class A amps.
Most are just high bias class A/B's.
But that Soundstream doesn't even fall within that classification.
You misunderstood the analogy. 100k home installs have nothing to do with anything here.Class D does not stand for digital. They call it d becuase a b and c were already used. Class D amps are used in 100k home installs, sorry if it's too good for your car, lol.
