hmm... with that budget 2 10"s is looking real good... IMO the inifities are a good way to go... even the 12's... seal them up real tight and they will sound great, and don't need a lot of power ='s a decent amp for cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif look for a good 500rms amp to push them and you are good to go

how decent would it be/sound? how decent would it be for metal/industrial. how decent would it be compared to my stock speakers by themself?

I put 249 into my headunit, which was retail like 320 or so. Little over 700$ for my comp set and amp to power them. I would be patient and save whatever money you get if any and go for a better system, shy away from sony at all costs, and any other mainstream brand...circuit city wouldnt be even the 50th option when searching for car audio, just for things that dont matter lol, like adapter plates and wire ties hah.... Im no expert just personal expierence, I like Diamond Audio, later on im getting diamond subs/amp....check on ebay, go here man this is the store i buy from, 3 day shipping! http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/fp/SFV/30046 good luck...oh yea Diamond Audio is good for a clean sound...I listen to some industrial...NIN if there considered that, not much on japanese rock

yeah NIN is the type I listen to. some bands more electronic. but NIN type music sounding good is what i'm gong for.

i was talking to my dad and said "if i buy 2 cheap subs in the car, and an amp how would it sound?" his reply "shitty" if i replaced the stock speakers and did that how would it sound? "better" not as good as a 700 dollar or more system obviously. but yeah.. which i already knew that. as all of you. i think i might just wait untill I get a new car later in 5-6 years and do it right.
