Didn't like the way I carpeted the last piece, so it's being redone.

poorly carpeted box, as this is clearly not the best material to do this with. It's just not strong enough to make the seams invisbile. Plus, the ports area are horrible, but it'll have to do until I come up with a new plan.

port covers are being re-sanded, primed, and painted. got them from Home Depot.

took the last piece to a local cabinet maker to have it routed.

plexi sitting flush.

After getting some quotes, I found that it's roughly $100+ to have the plexi laser etched. At this point I'll be looking at a DYI job, using etch cream or sanding it. Haven't decided yet.

hit up Toolmaker over on Carstereoclassifieds.org He can do the etching for you on a CNC

actually, I originally tried glass etch cream, but...I didn't realize lexan isn't actually glass...so that failed horribly. After running out of options, I decided to do a frosted vinyl of on the lexan..and it came out pretty nice. Air bubbles are still there, but should be out within 2-3 days from what I've read online. I had a sign shop actually print it out....$20.

nice. I'm looking to do something similar, just to make a backplate for a hifonics amp I have that doesn't have one.
