Well, I am new to car audio, I have never put in a system but I am sure I can figure it out. I guess I will need 1-2 subs, amp, tweeters. What ever the best system I can get with good bass, and quality. The stock speakers are pretty bad. Like I said I have a 700-1000 dollar budget. I wanted to get what you all think is the best in that price range.

My 97 Grand Cherokee.
Good head unit is 150$, add 50$ for dash kit and wiring plug. Sadly that dash won't allow you to run a flip up in dash DVD player without some severe modification. I tested the Soundstream (same as power acoustic) drop down HU and I thought it was a real piece of ****.... so standard single DIN HU is the way to go.
Stick to
6.5" holes in the doors and you should be able to flush or surface mount tweeters close to the woofer in the doors (150-200$). Add 50$ worth of sound deadener and you'll be happy you did. For 100-150$ there's plenty of good amps that'll do some fronts for you. I just disconnected my rears. Not worth the money unless you're trying to do 5.1 surround or have other advanced sound processing options (I've done a couple 5.1 surround installs for
Plenty of good gear here used if you don't mind that. You can do a 6 cubic foot net box easily and keep it under the window line so you have your pick of subs (assuming you want to take up that much space).
My .02$ focus on a head unit that has the features you like and a solid front stage. For a sub and 700-1000W amp, there's a zillion of them here used or plenty of forum boner brands that are good. If you lurk around here a bit you'll get a good feel for what sells for how much money and at least if you don't buy used you'll know what to reasonably expect for resale value if/when you decide to upgrade later.
