Sundown Vs Orion, everyone else

you want to learn or you going to keep repeating what i said? phase distortion is refracting/ reflection group delay etc..
Ok. Lets see what I've learnt.

How about the illusion of up front bass? You can not get that with out the bass to mid bass transition. It's not happening. Go read some more books.

you dont even know what your talking about. there is no illusion. it is simply your crossing the woofer so low that the majority of the bass spectrum is infront of you. and not to menation that subbass has very long wavelenghts and isnt very directional..

crossing the woofer low or just lowering the sub volume? Because having the woofer play higher helps that up front image.

Lol. Did the library card expire because you totally screwed that one up

look. i dont mind helping. dont try to try and fool people into thinking you can make me look foolish.. thats for ME to do. but thats not the case. im sure your a great tuner and understand what your doing. i respect that. ESP wth gear i dont find appesing. it shows your a good tunner. dont try to push it any futher than that. you can ask if you wish dont try to make statements and then hide when i correct you. the subjust still is im going to ruin imaging at high output levels and thats just not completey true.

we are advanceing every year. and the more we push the boundries the more we learn.. keep pushin..

typically if your Midbass is louder it is precived to be more upfront. same with the crossover points. the lower you cross the mid the less bandwiddth the sub has and the less direction the sub becomes.

truthfully there is no IDEAL crossover slope or frequecy. thats part of tuning. finding where you can cross the driver without comb filtering(which some people do on purpose to mask a ****** FR). ive crossed subs as high as 80 with a strong midrange and gotten great results some systems the woofer liked to be crossed much lower around 60hz.

It's the transition. There can't be big output spikes in the sub stage. And for that to work the overal output of the sub stage normally tops out around 120db. Past that point you start losing very quickly. The car and mid is fighting against you. Even with a dedicated midbass. They just can't get much past that point.

When I had the dedicated mid bass I only could get the sub stage up to 135. At that point it was iffy and normally all imaging went to ****.

Also rattle control ***** at that point. No matter what to treat something will always rattle

becasue at that point you have to design the drivers for theose higher pressure atomspheres. trust me. ive though of alot of it.. some day you will see..

The tune I'm using now. The one I'm going to compete with has a 3db roll off 60-100hz. That puts the bass on the hood in my case. I add just a hair to the remote on a bass heavy track and the bass is moving back into the car. Still up front but not deep. Add a hair more and it's filling the cabin but I lost all identifiable centered bass. A hair more and it starts in the back but moves up an the second hit. A hair more and it's just everywhere. During all that it may have increased 6db. So with a 9db roll off 60-100hz it's no longer even identifiable.

Now find mids that can output 131db while maintaining every little detail and dynamic. Good luck with that.

dont worry when i get started it will be quite easily done.

No time like the present. If money is an issue then investors shouldnt be hard to come by if the idea is good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

granted here the oilfield over 30k people lost there jobs, and to get the patient on a multinational level is upwards of 20k yea.. the banks aren't making small business loans ethier. its really bad here.

im trying to get the tooling done becasue the driver is completely different. not only that im woring on intergrating a control circuit that is capitible with the current amps on hte market and im not a electronics genious.. sad part is no one except maybe highend home theather or chimea audio will want to use it becasue its expensive and pushes the boundries far beyond what the current market really needs and can afford.

ill give you a hint. it works in a similar fashion to caddilics ferro fulid adjustable dampening suspension.

as fr as triditional woofers im still working on prototypes. i kinda gave up to build a fast *** street car but i was getting in trouble with it so im gonna go back to messin with audio..
