typically if your Midbass is louder it is precived to be more upfront. same with the crossover points. the lower you cross the mid the less bandwiddth the sub has and the less direction the sub becomes.crossing the woofer low or just lowering the sub volume? Because having the woofer play higher helps that up front image.
truthfully there is no IDEAL crossover slope or frequecy. thats part of tuning. finding where you can cross the driver without comb filtering(which some people do on purpose to mask a ****** FR). ive crossed subs as high as 80 with a strong midrange and gotten great results some systems the woofer liked to be crossed much lower around 60hz.
