Sundown 1500D issues

sorry bizzle manual wins everytime especially when he is trying to run it at 1 ohm and if your right i will admit i was wrong however kamanian who has ran many agrees that he needs to use both..
I am recommending that because it is what is stated in the manual, I also would not recommend running it at .5ohms either, not that it will not work, rather it is out of the guidlines of the manufacture, and therefore I can't suggest it being a rep of Sundown.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Personally with the discription of fading, I am not sure that there isn't a problem with the amp.

OP is it used or new?

It is used. It was originally purchased in april this year.
it should still have warr. then, do you have the origional reciept? if not can you get it from the guy you bought it from? It comes with a 2 year warr. you still have over a year left.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yes I have the recipt.

This diagram doesn't show a DVC sub though, which leads me to believe both + terminals should be used. If it was just showing ease of wiring then why doesn't the - have more than one lead? I agree every mono block I have used is the opposite of this.

It is unlikely an internal amp problem. Sounds like you have a bad ground. I would find a better, clean and sanded ground and then try it again. Jbizzle is also correct. You don't need to use all four terminals, I asked Jake that question myself when I got my first one. If you ground on a painted surface or one that isn't prepped correctly, then that could cause your problem.

11.8 with the vehicle off could be a bad battery or a very poor ground - should be over 12.

Also, you can use just one + and just one - on the amp - that is no problem.

If you have the original invoice from the amp it is under warranty and I could look at it if you like.

Your accessibility and willingness to help makes me want to try Sundown next.

indeed. thats why i ran sundow amps for awhile. (no system at all right now)

OP, something that is almost allways over looked are the settings on the amp. where are the setting for the LPF and subsonic filter? what RCA's are you using?

The Truth! It's a standard mono-block amp so the speaker terminals are connected internally. There isn't any need to connect them externally and no where in the manual does it say you HAVE to connect all of them. The diagram pictured is showing you an option. You have the option to use one + and - or both.

As for your problem, I would triple check all the connections with a dmm, disconnect and reconnect everything, then if it's still not working properly test it out in a friend's car. 11.8v is not good. Check that directly at your battery. If it's lower in the back than at your battery then your wiring is faulty.
