Do you think if I had the amp wired up and on without a subwoofer connected would that mess it up. I also didn’t disconnect the negative from my battery when I was connecting my amp and I’m starting to think that doing that messed up the amp
I don't know... you said the other amp is quiet too right? That makes me think the head unit may be at fault. I must head off to work now.
No this is my first amp that I install for the subwoofer. I didn’t have a previous amp.
It doesn’t give me the option to change it to full range it’s only subwoofer
I’ll try this when I get home. Do you think that if the sub isn’t fully mounted in yet and there’s a hole in my sub box because it’s not ready yet, that it messes up the sound of the sub?

Yes my bro the subwoofer is an active subwoofer that uses 300 rms and his sounds more cleaner and less drowned out. My neighbor helped me out and gave me some new rca cables which helped a little bit. I need to have my subwoofer output to +5 so that it will work. I can only really hear it when I have my stereo at almost full volume. When the volume is low I can’t hear it.
A hole in the sub box? Yeah that can cause problems.
That's fine. I just wanted to be sure it didn't accidentally get set far negative. You could bump it up to 6 though just to see if it makes any difference at all.
It was just a hole for me to screw in the terminals. After I changed the rca cables and I completely sealed the box it now sounds good.
Holes in subwoofer enclosures cause cancelation (unless it's a port). That was most likely the source of your grief.
