I am looking at getting one of these but wondering which would be best all round, but for mainly listening to electronic dance music and classical.

ESX QXB8A
https://www.esxaudio.de/english/qxb8a.html

or

Rockford Fosgate p300-12.

I heard some bad things re the RF subwoofer in the box not being that good whereas the ESX seems to have quality components but obviously its only inch.

What do yee reckon?

Make sure to consider the acoustic characteristics you desire. If you're looking for a deep bass response and good clarity in both genres, that may affect your choice.

The 12 has over twice the cone area of 8. It should easily be much louder and play lower than the 8. And even if you aren’t looking for huge volume, that is an advantage.

:) Thanks for the replies. Yes I care and am grateful for the input!
Has anyone any thoughts on the powered sub Rockford Fosgate p300-12 specifically? Most reviews do seem to be good. I can get for about the same price: Pioneer 12" TS-A300D4 & GM-D8701 Amplifier box
For Single 12" Subwoofer
Sealed Enclosure
1.25cu.ft 3/4" MDF box
Dimensions: 56cm (W) x 35cm (H) x 31cm (Bottom Depth) x 22cm (Top Depth)
Carpeted in black.

Or is that sub considered low end in terms of audio quality?

I'd lean Rockford over Pioneer simply by name, but there are other factors to consider.

What's the power in each setup? What's the sensitivity of each driver?

Detailed specs on the RF are scarce :/ but its a 300 rms amp
High temp 2" voice coil w/ spun-laced Nomex insulating re-inforcement collar
Frequency response: 35-150 Hz

Pioneer amp RMS 300 W x 1 (4 Ω), 500 W x 1 (2 Ω), 800 W x 1 (1 Ω)
Sub:

20 Hz - 2300 Hz
Impedance:
4 Ω Dual Voice Coil (DVC)
Nominal input power:
500 W
Sensitivity:
77 dB
Resonance Frequency25 Hz

A friend has that same Fosgate. It sounds pretty good but I think it will pale in comparison to a 12 in a bigger box and more powerful amplifier. Those are specific for when space is an issue and you must bass to keep your sanity.
I have never heard that Pioneer so watch videos of it before purchasing. For a little more than that price point I would opt for something from Skar, American Bass, or CT Sounds.
