I’ll try this when I get home. Do you think that if the sub isn’t fully mounted in yet and there’s a hole in my sub box because it’s not ready yet, that it messes up the sound of the sub?Try disconnecting one of the coils and see what happens.
I’ll check thisit might also be polarity/phase. I remember I had to wire my tweeters backwards to prevent bass to go
I have it set to 0. I didn’t want to mess with it a lotWhat is the output level set at in your head unit for the sub channel. Range is -24 to +6.
Yes my bro the subwoofer is an active subwoofer that uses 300 rms and his sounds more cleaner and less drowned out. My neighbor helped me out and gave me some new rca cables which helped a little bit. I need to have my subwoofer output to +5 so that it will work. I can only really hear it when I have my stereo at almost full volume. When the volume is low I can’t hear it.Might be some confusion, so your friends enclosure is self powered and 300 RMS ? Ported or Sealed ?
And your issue is that yours is not as loud ?
So output is your concern and not muffled?
Might need a different enclosure, it might be canceling out sound waves by poor design.
Can spare anymore room for a larger enclosure?
Might also need to break in the subwoofer.
A hole in the sub box? Yeah that can cause problems.I’ll try this when I get home. Do you think that if the sub isn’t fully mounted in yet and there’s a hole in my sub box because it’s not ready yet, that it messes up the sound of the sub?
That's fine. I just wanted to be sure it didn't accidentally get set far negative. You could bump it up to 6 though just to see if it makes any difference at all.I have it set to 0. I didn’t want to mess with it a lot
It was just a hole for me to screw in the terminals. After I changed the rca cables and I completely sealed the box it now sounds good.A hole in the sub box? Yeah that can cause problems.
Holes in subwoofer enclosures cause cancelation (unless it's a port). That was most likely the source of your grief. It was just a hole for me to screw in the terminals. After I changed the rca cables and I completely sealed the box it now sounds good.
