sub wont play lows?

I have a sundown sa-12 and just put in a new box at 1.8 cu tuned to 30hz. whenever i go to play a low song like white girl by young jeezy for example you just hear the sub making a rattling type of noise and barely moving. i took it out and started playing free air and it was doing perfectly fine but as soon as it goes ino the box it doesnt want to play correctly. whats my issue?

so im gonna go with subsonic filter is too low because i bought the sub brand new and its barely been worn in yet just got some real power going to it this week any specific way i should tune the amp? just play it by ear?

check your amp settings

check your wiring from amp to the box and box to the sub

check the voice coils with a DMM

ensure your enclosure is what it is supposed to be

Did you get your box custom built? Make sure that whoever built it actually built it right lol, you should easily pick up lows being tuned to 30 hz.

the sa line will get down in the right enclosure.

im thinking that may be the issue. how much port area do you have and how long is the port?

its either that or your wiring is backwards somewhere.

im pretty sure it was my wiring it was loose i just had put it in real quick to hear it but now its good the only thing now is it will play the lows but it just sounds like moving air not really bassy or anything could it be the way my port is facing?

lol after you get soo low if you don't have enough cone area/air space ratio that is pretty much all you are going to have.. if you had two 12's then you'd feel it alot more
