Okay, so I had this same sub/amp set up in a different vehicle and it worked great.

The only new part is my head unit, which only came with one sub output, so i bought a splitter so I could plug in both cra cables going to my amp.

The sub works, but is very quiet no matter what I try.

I dont have a control knob with this amp so I set my sub settings as loud as I can through the head unit.

I know next to nothing about car audio all I know is it worked before.

Took a pic of the back of the amp idk if I did something wrong there? Bass is set all the way up on amp, it's on low pass

The sub hits at the right time.. and sounds right.. it's just super quiet. Can barely even tell it's on

Eq is on pop or whatever on the deck, if I turn that off it's even worse.

Any ideas? I'd really like to have some bass back

you probably have it for mids and highs and the high pass filter is cutting out your bass. Solution, return that head unit and get something with at least 6 pairs of 4 volt pre-outs. That head unit wont cut it.

Few issues come to mind, but could be

  • RCA setting set to speakers (does the head unit opt you to chose either speakers / subwoofer???
  • If it does not give you the option, chances are, you are running them as speaker and it only jumps when there is bass thump
  • Low voltage from head unit - Those and most head units these days don't have a high voltage output hence your only hear something when you turn it up 3/4 volume and your amp gains set high
  • Again, agree with my man, Jeffdachef to try another head unit to see if the problem persists,   If you can borrow from a mate and run one, then that can be confirmed as well
  • The head unit could be faulty too, so get a replacement and / or upgrade to a higher spec unit with more RCA's as the one you have is only entry level one and does not offer other features such as subwoofer volume / subwoofer frequency choice,/ subwoofer volume/ phase option. Also get a unit with built in high pass filter so you can run your front and rear speakers on high pass.

One or two, they are still subwoofer outs and are mono summed signals from both left and right. Even the 2 RCA subwoofer pre-outs on the 2nd one...
