i have read the amp tuning tutorials ect. but im ADD big time and it doesnt make sense to me that well, is there an easy way someone can explain how to tune your subs properly.

also how big of a difference does it make to have them tuned right, are they louder, clearer or what?

Having ADD has nothing to do with your ability to understand basic tuning. It's not a crutch for when you don't understand something; I hate hearing people say stuff like that. I have had ADD for as long as I can remember and refused to take medication yet I have no trouble learning new and even very complicated ideas.

I'm Mexican and I understand it...

It depends what kind of tunes you'll be playing, you tune the box not the woofers, tune the box low and you hit low notes, tune it high and you hit high notes.

Correct me if I'm mistaken.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am pretty sure he is talking about setting the gain...

Take the total power you will be putting out (RMS rating, not MAX) and multiply it by the load the amp will 'see', (what your speakers will be wired to, represented in ohms.) Then take the square root of that number..

Get a DMM (digial multi meter, can be had for $20 at any hardware store) and put the probes in the amp's terminals. Turn on a 40-60Hz test tone at the highest volume you will play the stereo (NOT the highest volume capable of the unit), and adjust the gain until you get the number that you figured out earlier.

It's easy. If you don't get it, it's not the ADD, it's stupidity.

wow you guys are real nice here, im glad im a member of such a friendly forum.

but yeh i get it, kinda

whats the square root or what ever?

how can you make it out of the 4th grade and not know how to take a square root??? If you don't know that and you can't understand those incredibly simple directions, you should not be allowed to be behind the wheel.

same here, I managed to graduate from college with a 3.98 GPA with ADD, just have to try harder than most //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif but my ADD still hinders me from understanding women.

ADD still hinders me from understanding women.
The very illogical and irrational nature of a woman keeps me from understanding them.

Gum and bouncing my legs always helped me gain focus in class and on tests. I have done alright so far in school - one year left for my bachelor's in EE/CE.
