measure the resistance of the coils with a multimeter, and push on the centre of the cone to see if its free, and doesn't rub/scrape at all...

I am pushing the center of the cone and i hear a popping noise...or it might be scraping

if the resistance of the coil reads anything like 0, ----, or 4299999999 your VC is bad.
