I just got jl audio w6 and 500/1 amp installed from best buy in my 350z. After a week sub stopped working. I connected sub to another amp it worked. The amp powers on all wiring is good when i hit a bump driving it starts working for a second or two and stops. I got it checked by bbuy they said its internal problem in the amp. Is there anyway i could fix this or get it fixed n how much would it cost? Thanks in advance

Usually if you're hitting a bump and things go haywire, it's a bad ground. If you swapped amps and it went away, and now have swapped back and this amp is still intermittant while the other was not, then it has to be inside the amp. It sounds like they sold you a bad amp. Have them send it off for warranty repair.

I would check the ground connection first make sure it has a good bare surface, & make sure it's tightened down good to the amp, & if that don't work, Take the case off & check the connection

Ground connection is good because i have 2 amps, 1 for speakers and 1 for sub, and the one for speakers works fine. I opened it up but have no idea where to look...everything seems to be fine

make sure they didnt break the RCA's when hooking them up. turn it on and wiggle the rcas a bit and see if it cuts out. Had this problem with my first setup. and like said above make sure all connections are nice and tight. could just be a wire thats loose or something.

I had to look at the whole board closely. Luckily it was pretty easy. Two wires from what looks like a coil were off. 350z is pretty bumpy so I guess they came off. Re-soldered it and wala! Everything back to normal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Thanks for the help btw

Okay another problem, the two wires that I soldered, keep coming off when I blast the bass or hit a bad bump. Basically the metal pad that the wire goes on doesn't hold the wire very well. I soldered it 3 times already and still problem. Could I attach small copper wire from the coil to the metal pad?
