Sub Stage off DD Z1?

ok, maybe you're a little slow....
I never mentioned the enclosure here, I said, that the woofers are inefficient, which they are!!!! some of the most inefficient woofers on the market....

that doesn't mean you cant put them in an enclosure that will increase efficiency, generally, a folded horn can boost any woofers efficiency to over 100dB 1w/1m, but that doesn't make the WOOFER anymore efficient...
you are retarded. yes an enclosure can do it. yes the 9500s use a lot of power, and woofers of that caliber do. i wouldnt call them inefficient based on their poerformance. take a treo ssx, orion h2, xxx, the list goes on. go big and you better have big power. quit *****ing because your install and power isnt up to par with the 9510.

if my two dd 2510s with 1100 watts didnt flex my roof so much, i might agree.
1. I was talking about DD9500's if you can read.

2. roof flex doesn't mean the woofers are efficient //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

ah... less than 86dB efficient = inefficient last time I checked //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

The 9510's are 87db...a little low comparted to others in their class, but not that bad.

Noise...We have a pair of 9515's and haven't heard that. Hmm...

yeah i was thinking about the pair of 9515s i heard, also didnt hear any mechanical noise

with little power producing that much noise is pretty darn impressive.

still not sure what I want to do...
I have two DD9510's, which I tried in the car the other day, and they really werent that impressive...

the other option is to get maybe 4 or 6 Pioneer 306C's, and make a 4th order bandpass enclosure vented through the parcel shelf, which I know WILL be louder...

DD Z1, off a 230aH deep cycle, SLA battery (which I dont have yet) hopefully two runs of 0ga power cable to a high output alternator //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lovely... :p
DD is your problem, send all your DD to me since you can't make them sound good.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

everything comes with a trade off. subs that can take X kilowatts of power are going to not be as efficient as your lower power handling subs (typically, some of these low power high excursion subs **** for eff also). you shouldn't have gotten those subs if you weren't going to put the power to them.

i posted a link to your last full discussion on your problems, but it got deleted. did you ever do better than 139?

you really need to work on the box. i have 2 way less efficient 10's in a small sealed box with less power in my wifes vehicle. and she's about knocking on your door for #'s. wether the subs are efficient or not, you are no where near reaching the capability of your equipments output.

why get a 500ci engine and then choke it. put a 400cfm carb on it and then complain that it doesn't make any power that you'd have been better off with a 2L.

ADD IN- what you might see as a low base line efficiency, is made up for. when other subs start suffering from power of compression, the 9510 will keep putting out. so you give a few db's in the beginning to gain db's in the end.

not apples to apples but something for you to consider. i have a guy with 2 1012's. nothing about it is spl. box tuning around 35hz, his amp is 100 x 2 (about 600rms @ 2ohm mono). he does 139 db drag style.

your box looked good, i'm sure you had a lot of work into it. throw all the physics out the window and rebuild. i'd try tuning lower than what you had it. make your change, plot the direction it takes you, and keep doing that.

yeah, just like I know I guy who was using two DD1010's in a Street A spl car... 145dBs, and couldnt get a single dB more from them... hours and hours of testing...

swapped to two Pioneer 256C subs, played with tuning frequency for like an hour, and had 148dBs, TADA!!!

anyway, besides the point, the DD9510 subs can get loud in an SPL setup, but are in no way suited to a daily listening, musical system, which is what I am currently looking for.

extremely inefficient woofers, with heaps of motor noise?
how could you be impressed by them!?!?!

There rated for what 1200-1500w rms each ? Were you actually expecting efficiency of great magnitude ? Those kind of power ratings don't come attached to efficient drivers very often //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thats funny, entry level speakers.
