RangerMan Premium Member Premium Member 25,790 4 NC Nov 16, 2002 #2 Yea this is gonna be fun! Re is the DC resistance (in ohms) of the subs VC Fs is the Resonant frequency of the sub Qes is the electrical Q of the sub at Fs Qts is the total Q of the sub at Fs Qms is the mechinical Q of the sub at Fs Sd is the effective surface area of the sub Xmax is the linear one way travel of a sub's cone (perhaps the most important factor) Xmag excursion limit due to the MAGNETIC limits of the motor Xsus excursion limit due to the sub's suspension Vas equivalent air compliance Pe thermal capacity of the driver (in watts) Xmax is the shorter of the Xsus and Xmag values. Welcome to the world of subs
